About us

The newly formed Environmental Health Association of Canada (EHAC) is looking for a marketing and communications coordinator to join our small but mighty team. Our mission is to promote and protect the health of individuals and communities in Canada by advocating for and implementing measures to prevent or reduce environmental health risks. We work to raise public awareness about the links between the environment and health, namely by providing education and training on environmental health issues to individuals, healthcare professionals, and community groups; we advocate for advocates for evidence-based policies and regulations that protect public health and the environment; we collaborate with government agencies, industry, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and reduce environmental health risks; and we conduct and support research on environmental health issues to inform policies and interventions.

Position summary

The Environmental Health Association of Canada (EHAC) is looking for a driven, detail-oriented marketing and communications coordinator to produce high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the association by managing the day-to-day activities related to podcast production, social media editing audio and video, and providing assistance to the team. They will work closely with other team members, and researchers, to ensure that all communications are produced to a high standard and released on time.

General duties

· Create and edit audio podcast episodes. Ensure that they are of high quality and meet our standards.

· Work with the project manager to create a schedule for recording, editing, and releasing podcast episodes.

· Assist in the preparation of research materials and other documents related to podcast production.

  • Collaborate with the team and attend meetings.
  • Develop and write engaging and informative scripts for educational videos
  • Convert articles and data into video scripts
  • Conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy and relevance of content
  • Collaborate with educators and subject matter experts to develop content
  • Adapt content for various audiences and learning styles
  • Review and edit scripts to ensure accuracy, clarity and coherence
  • Keep up-to-date with educational trends and advances to ensure that content is current and relevant
  • Adhere to responsible ethical guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and experience

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, management, public health, psychology, science, sociology, or other related field.

  • Bilingual (written and spoken) in French and English.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in podcast production and editing, as well as audio and video editing.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in all work performed.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to achieve goals.

Preferred skills

  • Knowledge of MCS is an asset.

· Previous experience working for a not-for-profit organization is an asset.

  • Ability to complete all activities in a timely manner and to adhere to ethics and procedures.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team.

Status: Full-time (35 hrs/week)

Work site: Online

Salary: 26$/hour

Start date: May 8, 2023
