DEPARTMENT: Prepared Foods – Pockets

McCain Foods (Canada) – Florenceville Prepared Foods are currently looking for a VMAG Operator to complete our team. Please note this is a physically demanding role.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Follow JHA’s and work safely. Participate in STEP program (Behavioral safety observations)
• Responsible for following all safety requirements
• Responsible for the identification and reporting of product quality issues.
• Must follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP’s) and Critical Control Points (CCP’s).
• Complete core curriculum E-learning courses

Duties:

• Must ensure all machines are assembled properly before start-up as standard work
• Must be able to disassemble, clean, grease & assemble machine parts as standard work as well as change shear pins as required
• Must be capable of making minor adjustments to machines to improve pocket quality (i.e. – shutters and belts, etc)
• Unrack trays from pocket racks as standard work
• Must Utilize SPC tools to effectively control weights to ensure regulatory compliance of weights and measures.
• Dealing with the day to day issues of operating in a fast-pasted, temperature-controlled to 10 C environment
• Maintain clean work area and follow G.M.P.’s
• May be required to perform various other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor
• Troubleshoot, adjust and maintain equipment as required.
• Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting KPI’s.
• Relay information to other Team members as an area Lead (Key Area Resource).
• All additional duties as they become assigned.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 education or GED
• Must be able to work shifts on a rotating basis
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Basic computer skills would be an asset
• Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees
• Team player with excellent attendance
• Ability to lift approximately 25-30 lbs
• Ability to respond to unexpected circumstances calmly and responsibly
• Ability to accept and embrace change in the day to day operations
• Demonstrate continued improvement (MCE) initiatives and involvement
• Joint Health and Safety Committee experience an asset
