Rio Tinto Hiring Event! We are hiring multiple positions for our Operation in Kitimat, BC

We’re looking to fill multiple trades, professional, and supervisory positions for our Aluminum Smelter and Power Operation in Kitimat, BC. In Kitimat, you’ll be able to work alongside a friendly and safety-focused team while enjoying a lifestyle that offers incredible outdoor adventure and family-oriented amenities. Relocation assistance program is provided. Please note that fly-in-fly-out options are not available.

  • Operations Supervisors

Qualifications needed

We are looking for safety-oriented and collaborative individuals to join our team. In addition to those essentials, please review the qualifications below for each role type.

Millwright

  • Interprovincial or Journeyperson Millwright/Industrial Mechanic qualification.
    • Applicants who do not have the Interprovincial qualification, but are eligible to write the exam, will need to write the exam during their hiring process.
  • Valid full provincial driver’s license
  • Willing to work shift schedules, including rotating 12-hour shifts (rosters include both days, nights, and weekends)

Engineers

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Registration or eligibility for immediate registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with EGBC
  • Troubleshooting experience within an industrial maintenance setting
  • Willing to work Monday to Friday work schedule

Supervisors

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Valid full provincial driver’s license
  • Supervisory experience in a related setting
  • Effective leadership skills: the ability to set direction, prioritize and achieve objectives, actively listen, and engage and motivate your team members
  • Willing to work shift schedules, including rotating 12-hour shifts (rosters include both days, nights, and weekends)
  • For Maintenance Supervisor positions, you will also need a relevant Engineering Degree, and/or Trade qualification, and/or Technologist Diploma
