for the Fall 2023 semester

DISCIPLINE: HUMANITIES/PHILOSOPHY/RELIGION (345)
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Regular full-time replacement contract (enseignante ou enseignant remplaçant 1-2.14) for the 2023-2024 academic year.
AREA OF EXPERTISE: To teach Humanities/Philosophy/Religion and/or Social Science Research Methods courses to students enrolled in pre-university and/or professional programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

HUMANITIES (345) PHILOSOPHY (340) RELIGION (370)
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline(s) to be taught or equivalent*
  • Several years related teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred
  • Knowledge of Quantitative and Research Methods in the Social Sciences preferred
  • Ability to collaborate within a departmental team to achieve common objectives
  • Excellent English communication skills essential
  • Equivalent establishes a general comparison between two official education systems
The Humanities, Philosophy and Religion department is actively seeking teachers with knowledge in the following areas:
  • Critical approaches to teaching that are attentive to intersectional oppression and forms of social marginalization across the disciplines
  • Indigenous worldviews, knowledges and pedagogies
  • Theoretical and cultural production from the Global South and from marginalized communities
  • Climate crisis impacts and climate justice
  • Critical approaches to issues in contemporary media
  • The arts and their socio-cultural context

Demonstrated knowledge, experience and expertise in these areas will be considered an asset.
