What is the opportunity?

The Sr. Manager is responsible for the end-to-end customer journey of an application deploying on the Public Cloud, ensuring a positive customer experience throughout while establishing and maintaining compliance with Bank processes. This role will largely focus on the onboarding activity for a key affiliate located in the United States (west coast) and as such may be required to accommodate different working hours on a periodic basis. This is a new process and role for the affiliate; this individual would be responsible for the day-to-day onboarding activities, supporting retroactive onboarding documentation for applications previously onboarded, designing and implementing necessary processes/hand-offs to capture the end-to-end customer journey and ensuring appropriate reporting and updates are provided back to the parent team within RBC.

What will you do?

  • Manage application triage and onboarding requests on the public cloud; providing walkthroughs of the overall process, set-up expectations around timelines and quality related to gating artifacts and stakeholders involved.
  • Manage the tracking, reporting, and maintenance and set up of projects in various PM tools including but not limited to – Confluence and JIRA, Service Desk, Onboarding Portal.
  • Support in the coordination and implementation of new processes to align with the RBC Cloud or enterprise business process and/or technology solution while maintaining / improving operating efficiency to ensure timeliness and accuracy of workflow.
  • Prepare for, attend and provide input on approval boards’ decisions on application onboarding. Ensure dependent stakeholders have completed their required tasks in a timely manner.
  • Create and manage tracking of responses to audit requests by internal and external stakeholders on audits of the
  • Support customers in balancing of timelines for their production/deployment against Onboarding and Compliance processes’ cycle times. Assess anticipated and known challenges to successfully bridge gaps between technology and business needs;
  • Provide subject matter expertise to business and IT contacts by reviewing escalated issues and providing solutions/resources to address issues and implement resolutions;
  • Proactively identify areas of potential process optimization opportunities by asking questions and driving conversations with the teams/stakeholders
  • Create and maintain reporting required to support management governance and awareness of the affiliate’s onboarding controls and throughput, in support of the Cloud Program’s goals for governance and adoption.

What do you need to succeed?

This role requires strong project management/multi-tasking skills, written & verbal communication and problem-solving skills and prior experience in an IT environment. Once in the role, you will need to establish detailed knowledge about the Cloud Product offerings to support this role’s ability to triage application teams’ requests and connect them with the right Cloud stakeholders.

Must Have

  • This role requires ability to work in Los Angeles, (PST) United States time zone.
  • Minimum of 5+ years solid and proven experience in a fast paced environment with competing priorities and multiple stakeholders;
  • Experience with IT projects (preferably software);
  • Demonstrated passion and drive to identify troublesome areas, find and implement solutions;
  • Strong communications skills to participate in projects with technology peers as well as senior business leaders;
  • Self-learner with the ability to build upon existing knowledge base;
  • Ability to lead a team, mentor and share knowledge.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with automation and self-serve enablement of IT processes considered an asset
  • Prior experience with cloud technology (Iaas, Paas)
