About the role

The Shipper/Receiver Summer Intern is responsible to assist with the shipment of all goods to customers as well as the receipt of all goods from Suppliers. The Shipper/Receiver Summer Intern is responsible to assist as needed in their assigned warehouse and the safe storage of received goods and shipment of deliveries.

This is an entry level position with the opportunity for advancement in a growing company that specializes in industrial control systems and engineered products. Future opportunities may be available in instrumentation sales and project management.

This role is temporary term defined, ending August 31, 2023.

Duties and responsibilities

Receive

• Compare packing slip to counted received quantity
• Inspect goods on receipt and report any non-conformances to procurement.
• Receive goods in ERP system.
• Store in proper locations

Shipping

• Prepare goods for safe shipment in most cost effective manner, balance costs and timeliness of delivery of product
• Ensure goods are allocated per order requirements
• Partially ship with customer consent
• Maintain proper records of shipping

Qualifications

• Enrollment in post-secondary instrumentation technology program, engineering or commerce desirable
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
• Motivated, energetic and personable
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and understanding of ERP systems

Working conditions

• Warehouse environment

Physical requirements

• Must enable PPE when required
• Occasional lifting and climbing
