The opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Consultant with a strong focus on manufacturing to join our fast-growing Digital Supply Chain and Operations team. As a supply chain professional, you'll work with business leaders to provide insights into supply chain transformation, sourcing, procurement, inbound logistics, engineering, manufacturing, final assembly, and product service and delivery. Your key responsibilities


As Senior Consultant, Digital Supply Chain & Operations - Manufacturing, you'll contribute to Supply Chain & Operations and manufacturing client engagements as well as internal projects. An important part of your role will be to actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. Similarly, you'll anticipate and identify risks within

engagements and raise any issues with senior members of the team


Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you'll create innovative insights for clients balanced with business and technology leading practices and adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs. You will actively contribute to improving operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives. In line with EY's commitment to quality, you'll ensure that work is of high quality. As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop. A willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel requirements could be as high as 60 - 80%.


Client responsibilities

  • Participate in manufacturing and operational excellence engagements for our industrial manufacturing, consumer goods, advanced manufacturing, and mobility clients
  • Provide experienced insights and knowledge on manufacturing and operations best practices in a business context of high-speed manufacturing, discrete manufacturing and Engineering-to-Order (ETO)
  • Consider the intricacies of operations with supply chain processes, such as direct procurement, production planning and scheduling, materials management and intra-logistics, and warehousing
  • Help prepare and lead client conversations including interviews, workshops, visioning sessions, and document outputs
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives through root cause analysis methodology and data driven decisions
  • Deliver high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget
  • Provide insights by using a robust set of data analytics
  • Develop and maintain working relationships and good communication with client personnel at appropriate levels and being able to actively engage them into joint-initiatives
  • Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members on progress


Practice and People responsibilities

  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Consulting practice
  • Support senior management with practice development activities such as recruiting and capability building to grow the practice in strategic areas
  • Create a positive team environment and provide coaching and support for junior staff

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Outstanding academic record including a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant consulting or industry experience focusing on manufacturing and operations
  • Knowledge and relevant experience working with operational excellence tools and systems (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, JIT, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience interacting with the following areas: Rapid operational and manufacturing assessments across all dimensions; Supply chain and operational excellence transformations; Inventory and warehouse management; Global trade and manufacturing footprint optimization; Operational performance improvement and core business review; Operational cost reduction and Operating model design
  • Experience with driving change and ensuring change adoption at large organizations
  • Experience in Quality improvement and savings, Re-work cost savings, Overhead cost savings, OEE and Yield improvements, Maintenance strategies and preventative and Autonomous maintenance.
  • The willingness and ability to travel to USA up to 60% of a work schedule


Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience with Digital operations and Smart Factory solutions
  • A range of experience or demonstrated understanding across the following: supplier collaboration, product lifecycle management, procurement, operations management, fulfillment, after sales service and maintenance, return and recycle
