As ATB Financial’s next Senior Learning Consultant in ATB Wealth, you will support ATB as part of the Wealth Advisory Enablement team - a high performing team that is client-obsessed about helping to make it possible for Albertans. You will work closely with your colleagues across the organization to research, design, create, curate and implement full-cycle learning experiences. You will assist with conducting needs assessments and task analysis with subject matter experts using sound design principles to identify and define potential learning strategies and solutions. You will also work collaboratively with internal business partners and subject matter experts to help in the development, production and delivery of learning solutions across independent, instructor-led and blended modalities that apply the concepts of adult learning and instructional design.

As a Senior Learning Consultant, you are a visual artist, mixing your passion for art and design with your skills in developing learning solutions that are interesting, clear and effective. You can create in a variety of modalities and others describe your approach as innovative, creative, and powerful at building capabilities. You create experiences that help learners feel confident in applying new skills. You know that the best learning happens in the flow of work and look for ways to ensure it’s not one-off events but something that is built into the everyday to create sustainable new habits and outcomes. You also have a critical eye and can evaluate curated learning content and programming to assess it for suitability and effectiveness against learning and development objectives.

Senior Learning Consultant Accountabilities:

  • In partnership with program or initiative owners, define the scope of learning projects including negotiating deliverables and setting expectations with stakeholders
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning experiences that capture the imagination and support lasting behavioural change
  • Design learning interventions that satisfy each project and fit into the advisory enablement and learning ecosystems
  • Identify risks, dependencies and barriers that may impact the success of learning initiatives
  • Communicate with multiple stakeholders to ensure seamless professional implementation of learning and development programs and initiatives
  • Design, manage, analyze, and report on learning metrics that represent delivery, outcome, and results
  • Compile and review key metrics for ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
  • Analyze key learning metric reports to identify opportunities and themes
  • Stay on top of key trends, technology, and progressive practices in the internal and external environment which can be leveraged to create fantastic learning
  • Be a great team member and collaborator: be self-accountable, reliable, and help out whenever and with whatever may be needed within remote work environments and with geographically disparate teams, stakeholders and client groups

Requirements

  • Certificate or diploma in instructional design, learning technologies, or similar and 5+ years experience in a similar role
  • Experience with, or a strong interest and aptitude to learn technology and tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Google Suite. Experience with degree’d, working within an LMS and the Articulate 360 Suite is an asset.
  • Experience with needs assessment, task analysis, knowledge audit, content sequence/course plan, design, evaluation development, deployment and feedback collection
  • The ability to see beyond learning-as-an-event to building capability based learning ecosystems that improve performance
  • The ability to customize learning content to a variety of learner groups, providing clear context and direct applicability to their work environment.
  • A passion for being customer-centric at the core of everything you do
  • The ability to take initiative and work independently, and and collaboratively with other team members, in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong oral and written business communication skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong graphic design skills would be considered an asset
  • Experience in multimedia development would be considered an asset
  • Experience/exposure to organizational change management practice/certification would be considered an asset
