Job Description:
The Senior Supplier Relations Specialist is responsible for supporting contract renewals, editing contracts, drafting SLA's, supporting contract drafting, managing the supplier base and supporting governance activities including scorecards, data collection, analysis and acting as a liaison between Sun Life business units and suppliers. In addition to being an excellent communicator, the incumbent has strong analytical skills in analyzing contract pricing, service levels and in depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract agreements and legal terminology and is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities
Responsibilities:
Create and communicate concise and consistent contract provisions, align contract terms with legal requirements and policies, ensure contracts attain achievable risk levels and suggest changes where needed
Be familiar with contract terms, payment structure and reimbursements
Coordinate and summarize competitive analysis, spend analysis, KPI’s and
operating reports
Assist the monthly Finance reconciliation that outlines the variances between actual and plan expenses
Support Service provider escalations (second level) to the SRM team
Participate in service provider audits and reports
Create Contract Status and reports, create descriptions on aging contracts
Manage and Analyze high tier suppliers delivery of services levels, cross reference with contract, analyze, track and report accordingly
Support team projects related to suppliers and contracts as needed
Consult on issues impacting the efficiency and effectiveness of supplier
relationship management and cross-functional processes
Ensure standard practices are being followed and collaborate on supplier
management best practices
Judge and work under pressure and persuade parties in full fairness of Sun Life’s position
Qualifications:
Sourcing experience, working towards Supply Chain Designation (CSCP)
Contracting analysis and negotiation skills
Industry knowledge of best practices for Sourcing and Contracting
Excellent reporting and analytical skills
Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills
Organizational and time management skills to handle diversity of the job
Strong objective reasoning skills, ability to support and explain reasons for decisions and recommendations
As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide
Ability to work in high profile, fast paced and changing work environment and solve moderately complex problems
Familiarity with supplier selection and performance management practices
Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational skills
Excellent communicate skills (verbal and written)
Strong MS office and Excel skills
Preferred skills:
Accounting/Business/financial/data analysis experience
University degree in a related field
5 + years related experience
Demonstrated contract and relationship management skills
Experience with projects and business analysis
Familiarity with insurance business practices and processes
Exposure to Lean and 6 Sigma methodology
Experience with identifying and analyzing Key performance indicators
