Registered Pharmacy Technician (Part-time)

As the Registered Pharmacy Technician you will be responsible for ensuring that accurate and care is taken when dispensing prescriptions for patients in a timely manner, while making sure compliance standards and regulatory requirements are being followed. You will focus on checking, verifying and collaborating with staff members to provide the best patient care at the pharmacy.
This role will report directly to the Pharmacy Manager and will support and drive results by making sure prescriptions are accurate and prepared in a timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Processing prescriptions, answering patient calls or meeting in person, filling prescriptions received by auto-fill, email, fax and voicemail; checking prescriptions; faxing physicians for re-fills; processing re-fills; processing medication review forms; and filing prescriptions
· Caring for prescription organization: entering, counting and labelling
· Making blister packs, conducting research for patients; reviewing drug recalls and updates
· Responsible for OTC inventory, checking and recording fridge temperatures; notifying manufacturer of any errors; and noting back-orders
· Stocking: re-filling vials, ointment jars, bags, and supplies
· Ordering: ordering supplies to replenish prescription stickers, brochures, and business cards
· Pharmacy environment: cleaning and organizing the Pharmacy shelves, workspace, and Patient areas
· Preparing monthly Accounts Receivable statements for billing
QUALIFICATIONS:
· RPHT license and licensed to practice in Alberta
· License in good standing with a min of one (1) year working experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting
· Compounding experience (asset)
· Attention to detail and able to work with minimum sup
· Strong written verbal and computer skills are required
· Positive work ethic
· Excellent organization and time management skills
· Deadline-oriented and strong prioritization skills
