Job Description

Mist Mobility Integrated Systems Technology is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative aerial delivery and recovery systems including the Sherpa family of GPS guided parafoils, Space Recovery Systems, and the self-launch capable SnowGoose unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), along with mission planning tools, services, and support equipment. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join MMIST as a Product Engineer . Job Summary


The Product Engineer will be responsible for managing important products over their full life cycle, to ensure these products are competitive in the market, meet customer needs and internal strategic requirements, while maintaining clear design and configuration control. Success is achieved through the collaborative efforts of a knowledgeable and diverse team. These efforts will be channeled by the Product Engineer’s strong focus on safety and user needs, with a high attention to detail . Individuals who join our team will become experts over time in aerial delivery and recovery systems, through pairing with experienced individuals at MMIST, and through firsthand experience gained supporting field testing, training, and real-life use of the products.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience/interests.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, product engineering, or related field;
  • Strong technical background with experience in product design, development, and manufacturing; and
  • Experience managing the complete product lifecycle.

Desirable experience and strengths

  • Experience with ISO 9001:2000 and/or AS9100;
  • Ability to build professional relationships both internally and externally;
  • Project management with experience in agile methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams;
  • Logical thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and
  • Experience in aerospace and/or defense industries.


Responsibilities


  • Manage the complete product lifecycle, including BOM/ERP management, costing, part obsolescence, production support, product backlog/releases, change management, and product lifecycle/sustainment management;
  • Develop and maintain quality, build, factory acceptance test documentation, user manuals and training materials for the products;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, marketing, and manufacturing to ensure that the product meets customer needs and aligns with the company's goals and objectives;
  • Develop and manage document release planning to ensure that the product is delivered on-time and within budget;
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities to improve the product's cost structure.
  • Ensure that all quality documents, build and test procedures are in place and adhered to throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Implement strategies for product lifecycle and sustainment management that ensure products are supported throughout their lifecycles.
  • Manage part obsolescence and ensure that product updates are made to meet customer needs, internal requirements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide production support to ensure that products are manufactured to meet quality, cost, and schedule goals.
  • Monitor and manage product performance and KPIs to ensure that the product meets customer needs and quality standards.
