Do you have a passion for science and desire to contribute to scientific communications? STEMCELL is looking for a Manager for its Science in the City program — a science communication resource that connects local researchers with their scientific community and helps them stay current with the science news, events, and jobs taking place around them.

In this role, you will lead a team of direct reports in staying on top of the latest scientific advances in various regional scientific communities. You will oversee the publication of website, newsletter, and social media content, and work with your team to engage with scientific researchers online and through attendance at scientific events in the region. You will work cross-functionally and independently to strategize and execute on projects that optimize the impact, growth, and success of the Science in the City program.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of STEMCELL’s Science in the City program, including creation of website, newsletter, and social media content.

  • Develop and execute on strategies for city-specific community engagement, partnerships, memberships, and live events.

  • Through monitoring and analysis of performance via metrics and feedback, propose and execute on strategies for program growth and expansion.

  • Work cross-functionally to leverage, evolve, and align the Science in the City program with STEMCELL’s goals and brand.

  • Work cross-functionally to support regional marketing needs and logistics.

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Minimum BSc with 4+ years relevant work experience, MSc with 2+ years work experience, or PhD graduate with 1+ years work experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in people and project management.

  • Experience with Wordpress, Eloqua, Meltwater, or equivalent software is preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills .
