The Role:

This is an opportunity to join an IT department within a fast growing, Canadian, SaaS company. Reporting to the Director of IT and Security, the successful candidate will be responsible for all matters related to information technology efforts at both Knak as well as Revenue Pulse - a sister company - on a case by case basis. You will work closely with People and Culture to quickly and efficiently onboard new employees and with Security to implement and maintain secure best practices. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, someone who wants to take ownership of a department and build it up from the ground-up, and can work in a fast paced environment where things are constantly changing and evolving.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.
  • Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes.
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs.
  • Assess vendors and develop test strategies for software.
  • Implement all new software and manage access via provisioning and deprovisioning.
  • Management of Software Vendor relationships for our entire software tech stack, assisting departments to ensure the outcome of their requirements.
  • Involved with security initiatives and best practices.
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure we have the appropriate software in place, integrate with the existing tech stack while keeping data integrity and ensuring no technology redundancies.
  • Troubleshoot software issues related to internal IT.
  • Manage Hardware, coordinate repairs, replacement and device refurbishment.
  • Maintain, support and administer network and data communication infrastructure ensuring best performance for the office and remote users
  • Work with new and existing vendors and department heads to manage and negotiate new purchases and renewals.

Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in IT operations.
  • Experience leading and managing large IT projects and improving IT infrastructures
  • across various technologies.
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems
  • administration, data storage in various software systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
