Job Description

This is a temporary, full time support staff position replacing a bargaining unit employee. This position will start as soon as possible and end March 29, 2024 - working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $33.38.

Reporting to the Associate Registrar, Student Support Systems & Data Assurance, the successful candidate will be responsible for registration of students in post-secondary International Programs and acting as a liaison with partner institutions.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Provides specialized student record services including assessing qualifications of prospective students, making admission decisions based on admission rules, and maintenance of Student Information System (SIS)
  • Administers academic and financial policies by processing all documentation pertaining to registration, fee payments, course and program changes, withdrawals, refunds and grades
  • Conducts credential audits to ensure eligibility for promotion and graduation
  • Reviews and assesses transcripts to determine admission status
  • Assists in the facilitation, coordination and implementation of services that support the ability of students to move from registration to graduation for domestic and international students
  • Setup fees and programs, process registration and grade files for partner institutions using Generic Import
  • Liaise with partner institutions to investigate and resolve student records’ issues
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three-year post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration
  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated work experience in a position that advises clients on complex and specialized information, preferably in an educational environment
  • Experience with Colleague and myLambton or similar platforms is considered an asset
  • Active listener with the ability to demonstrate empathy

  • Strong computer skills and demonstrated ability with applications developing and using spreadsheets, word processing, email, internet applications and complex financial/student database systems

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, in order to clearly and credibly explain policies/procedures/guidelines to clients/students
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to handle confidential and sensitive material with tact and diplomacy, exercise discretion and good judgement at all times
