Location of work
The position will be working remotely with the anticipation of travel for team and client meetings. Our business requirements are to work to accommodate Eastern Time Zone. To work in synergy, it is preferred that our applicants can work Eastern Time Zone to accommodate team and client meetings.
Overview
Reporting to the Senior Corporate Controller, the Internal Auditor will:
- Develops risk focused annual audit plan including identification of key business processes, business risks, and control environment.
- Leads and performs internal audit procedures, testing and prepares audit finding reports.
- Conducts internal financial audits and risk assessments.
Objectives
- Primarily focused on ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) legislation.
- Assists Corporate Controller in developing, implementing, and administering ICFR following SOX requirements.
- Applies knowledge of internal control concepts and experience with planning, managing, and reporting on the evaluation of various business processes, areas, and functions.
- Provides recommendation to management based on improving controls and procedures and reducing deficiencies.
Accountabilities
- Leads assigned engagements, and plan audit objectives and scopes, designs and develops risk-based audit programs and procedures.
- Evaluates, administers, and redesigns company RCM to follow changes in operational environments.
- Performs internal audit procedures and SOX compliance audit and investigates audit observations.
- Prepares internal audit findings, and SOX deficiency assessment for audit committee and management.
- Performs follow-up on the status of outstanding internal audit issues.
- Report business control weaknesses, objectively assess the severity and materiality of the issues and their potential risk impacts to the company.
- Makes recommendations to improve compliance with ICFR and eliminate discrepancies.
- Performs fraud risk assessments to ensure early detection and prevention of fraud.
- Prepares control narratives, processes, and SOX control documentation.
- Performs testing of ITGC compliance over business components.
- Performs annual reviews of third-party SOC reports, identifies, designs, and implements CUECs as relevant by the SOC reports.
- Facilitates work with external auditors.
- Assists in implementation of MRP system and other accounting software applications.
Requirements
- Professional designation such as CPA, CIA, CFA, CISA, ACCA.
- 8+ years of auditing experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical environment.
- Proven achievements of developing RCM.
- Knowledge of SOX legislation and COSO framework is a must.
- Knowledge of ITGC requirement is an asset.
- Proficiency in Visio, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
