Our team is seeking an intermediate Software Developer at our North American Headquarters, located in Edmonton, Alberta. The primary focus of this role is the design, development and implementation of integration processes supporting PCL’s business applications. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on experience in API design and development, ETL, and data modeling.


Here's how an Integration Developer for our Edmonton NAHQ office contributes to our team:

  • Designs, develops, configures, and maintains APIs and integration processes
  • Designs, develops and maintains ETL/ELT processes
  • Develops and maintains code release pipelines
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation
  • Studies new and existing data sources by collecting and reviewing business requirements
  • Participates in and lead technical design sessions
  • Monitors and tracks performance, and address any issues
  • Supports production issues and complete root cause analysis
  • Recommends or automate approaches to improve existing solutions and/or systems to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Defines test plans and execute unit tests to ensure integration processes meet quality assurance standards
  • Collaborates with senior architects to identify efficient architectures and mentor/lead more junior development resources
  • Coordinates releases with other development teams by adhering to PCL change management processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or diploma in computer science (or equivalent education)
  • 3+ years of experience with:
    • C# .NET development
    • Relational databases such as MS SQL Server
    • API design, development, and enabling technologies including REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, HTTP, OData, etc.
    • Data modeling and relational database design and implementation techniques
    • Enterprise integration patterns related to Web Services and API Management
    • DevOps tools, such as ADO and GitHub
    • master data management and data quality management techniques
  • Working experience with integration middleware tools such as Boomi, Tibco, MuleSoft, Power Automate, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving and data analysis skills
  • Effective communication and writing skills necessary to participate in technical discussions and information gathering sessions
  • Positive, can-do attitude, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple development projects simultaneously
