There is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and independent post-secondary student to join the HR team as an HR Intern. The 4-month internship, starting in May 2023 offers hands-on experience and learning opportunities on a dynamic team in our Vancouver office.

About you:

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail- attentive with a strong initiative to take on a wide variety of tasks. The candidate should possess the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of constituents, and has proven capabilities in multi-tasking, problem-solving, and prioritizing workloads.

Duties:

Payroll and Benefits Tasks:

  • Assist with reviewing timesheets and geofence exceptions
  • Assist with time off request administration
  • Special projects such as reviewing benefits classes and assisting the team with benefits reconciliation
  • Administrative assistance for the payroll team such as electronic filing of employee files

Recruiting Tasks:

  • Updating job descriptions using templates.
  • Assist recruiting team and hiring managers with posting jobs on UKG, Indeed & LinkedIn.
  • Support hiring managers with sourcing candidates and providing resumes.
  • Conduct phone screens to support high-volume recruitment.
  • Support recruiting team by conducting reference checks,
  • Assist in creating content for social media channels such as LinkedIn, Tik Tok.
  • Monthly visa reconciliation on Concur.
  • Support events committee with any event set up.


Education and Experience:

  • Any HR-related experience an asset
  • Enrolled in Post-secondary education – Diploma, or Degree or related field an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency with various computer programs such as the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Developed problem-solving ability
  • Self-starter, driven, with high attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
