Job Description

The Department of Applied Human Sciences is looking for qualified applicants for the position of Graduate Student Research Assistant for the summer 2023.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data collection across PEI in early learning and childcare environments
  • Assist in research related activities (e.g. analyze data)
  • Report and manuscript writing
  • Assist in developing nutrition and research related materials
  • Liaise with Nutrition coaches, Early Childhood Educators and other key stakeholders
  • Prepare and assist with workshops and other dissemination activities as needed
  • Attend research related meetings with project team and policy stakeholders
  • Other tasks and duties as emerge or are assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be enrolled in a Graduate program at UPEI
  • Research experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and data analysis
  • Experience with early learning and childcare environments
  • Excellent writing skills including manuscript and/or report preparation
  • Excellent office and event organizational skills
  • Demonstrated communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, trouble shoot and manage time in an independent work setting
Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
