Specific Accountabilities:
Special Events
- Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing all aspects of Lambton College Foundation signature events, including: Academic Awards, Corks, Caps and Cuisine, Lion’s Night @ Sting, Annual Golf Tournament and Foundation Raffle. In addition to the yearly events, the Associate Director, Foundation, Alumni and Brand & Marketing Services may assign additional events or change the scope of existing events based on the needs of the Foundation.
- Accountable in securing key donors, sponsors and sponsorships to ensure the event is financially viable and key performance indicators are met or exceeded.
- Creates all marketing materials in coordination with the Community Engagement: Marketing team, and coordinates solicitation of live and silent auction prizes.
- Responsible for tracking and selling of tickets to all events.
- Organizes all event logistics, ensuring each event runs smoothly and that guests and donors have a positive memorable experience.
- Creates and maintains event briefs for the Associate Director, The Lambton College Foundation, Alumni Association & Enactus and SLT as applicable, providing a post event debrief for each event to the Associate Director, The Lambton College Foundation, Alumni Association & Enactus and incorporates opportunities and best practices into future events plans.
- Oversees the recruitment, training and supervision of all volunteers, including students, faculty /staff and community volunteers to help run Foundation events.
- Contributes to the budgeting and event proposal process
Donor Cultivation and Engagement
- Responsible for identifying potential sources of funding, which include the development, execution and cultivation of solicitation strategies, with a large focus on relationship-stewardship and driving acquisition of gifts to the College.
- Works with the Associate Director, The Lambton College Foundation, Alumni Association & Enactus to discuss prospective donor strategy for the College’s top potential and existing donors.
- Develop, maintain and nurture relationships with support strategies for a wide variety of stakeholders, including: faculty/staff, alumni, prospects and donors.
- Responsible for the development of creating and submitting grant proposals and applications.
- Maintains a portfolio of active and pending grants, and provides a monthly status to the Associate Director, The Lambton College Foundation, Alumni Association & Enactus outlining pipeline activity and funds for all College priorities.
- Develops and maintains an extensive knowledge of college programs and initiatives to identify matches with donor’s interests.
- Contacts all Academic Award donor’s a minimum of three times per year, to ensure their overall satisfaction and to solicit for increased support.
Communication
- Create key content and assist with marketing approval process as required for the production of all fundraising communication materials (i.e. Annual Campaign Materials, Donor Stewardship, Donor Proposals)
- Provide content recommendations for fundraising and Foundation presentations (i.e. corporate audiences, internal audiences and presentations to stakeholders).
Lambton College Website
- Writes or arranges writing for all content for the Foundation website to provide consistency and accuracy in public communications.
Social Media
- Shares responsibility with the Donor & Alumni Relations Coordinator in overseeing social media accounts, which include content creation, interacting with followers, answering questions, responding to messages, and aligning content with real-time marketing opportunities.
- Develop social media strategies and campaigns that will encourage engagement and inspire philanthropic support of the College across all social media platforms, including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other potential social platforms.
Administration
- Develops an annual budget forecast for programming and events based upon cost history for presentation to the Associate Director, The Lambton College Foundation, Alumni Association & Enactus
- Reviews and monitors budget expenditures.
- Utilizes the Raiser’s Edge and Live Alumni software to run queries, extract lists, export data and track/update records.
- Presents program and event updates at the Foundation Board of Directors meetings.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Provides support to the Lambton College Community Engagement team through the assistance with department events, activities and initiatives.
About the Position:
This is a full-time Support Staff position reporting to the Associate Director, Foundation, Alumni & Enactus, working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $36.19.
Acting as the primary contact for the Lambton College Foundation both internally and externally, the successful candidate is responsible for the execution of 4-5 Lambton College signature events, including but not limited to: Academic Awards, Corks, Caps and Cuisine, Lion’s Night @ Sting, Annual Golf Tournament and Foundation Raffle.
The Fundraising Coordinator is involved in the fundraising campaigns, by assisting with donor recognition and increasing the Foundation’s presence internally and externally through marketing and education.
S/he is responsible for identifying potential sources of funding, which include the development, execution and cultivation of solicitation strategies, with a large focus on relationship-stewardship and driving acquisition of gifts to the College.
They also share responsibility in overseeing the department social media platforms; developing social strategies and campaigns that will encourage and inspire philanthropic support.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 year post-secondary diploma/degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations or Fundraising is required;
- Minimum of three years sales, fundraising and/or donor management and communication experience is required;
- Minimum three years event management experience;
- Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation would be an asset;
- Experience in data manipulation, database management and fundraising software;
- Proven knowledge of fundraising methodology;
- Professional attitude, diplomacy, and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and alliances;
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines, and actively deal with change and ambiguity;
- Knowledge and experience with various social media platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and SnapChat and LinkedIn;
- Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented written & verbal communication skills;
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests demonstrating good decision making skills, tactful, good listener, willingness to search out answers, ability to recognize when others need to be involved in activities or decisions;
- Demonstrated ability to deal with multiple constituent groups; stakeholders, volunteers, donors, staff members in a collegial and collaborative manner.
