Please note, this is a temporary position for approximately 18 months

As ATB's next Fraud Data Analyst, you will perform day-to-day data support activities of low to moderate complexity that contribute to the development and support of databases and/or systems. With support and guidance from senior members of the team, you will perform tasks in the area of data interpretation and reporting. You are someone who scrutinises information using data analysis tools. The meaningful results you pull from the raw data help Fraud Risk Management (FRM) make important decisions by identifying various facts and trends. You will contribute to the solutions that support FRM information management, business intelligence, and other business interests within ATB.


Accountabilities:

  • Use various methods to analyze data to improve quality and the efficiency of data systems.
  • Collecting and interpreting data & identifying patterns and trends in data sets.
  • Perform statistical data analysis, data mining/munging, data science, and Optimization using multiple tools and techniques to provide insights from different Fraud platforms and enterprise data sources.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert (super user), developing, and maintaining a skilled understanding of data, processes and system application.
  • Has accountability for identifying and escalating data anomalies or other data related concerns.
  • Ability to network and cultivate a productive working relationship with other internal and external teams/partnerships. Incumbents must work as part of a team, often beyond the immediate team reflected in the organizational structure, to complete their work.
  • Must be able to translate technical concepts and practices for non technical partners.
  • Provides research and data findings to aid in developing strategies.

Requirements

  • Post Secondary Degree in Business, Computer Science or related field required or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years experience in data analytics (Business Intelligence, reporting, data visualization), data mining tools and methods.
  • An intermediate proficiency in SQL and Google Sheets (or MS Excel) is required.
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Tableau, SAS, Google DataStudio, R etc.
  • An understanding of programming languages such as JavaScript and/or Python.
  • The ability to analyze, model and interpret data in various platforms such as Google BigQuery, Microsoft SQL, Metabase etc.
  • Amazing attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Enjoys researching and following trends and brainstorming innovative ideas.
  • Resourceful and creative as this position is often faced with new challenges and is expected to work independently.
  • The position is required to identify opportunities and influence outcomes/results and utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge acquired through progressively advancing work experience and academic qualifications.
