Description:

This course will involve analyzing information and preparing formal reports based on the summer internship, in consultation with individual faculty supervisors. Students will deliver brief seminar presentations on their work, and there will be an oral defence of the final paper.


Class Schedule
:

Ongoing classroom and student meetings; presentations take place December 12-13, 2023.


Sessional dates of appointment
: September 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023; please note that this position includes the completion of any course work and grading not completed by 31 December 2023.


Estimate of the course enrolment
: Approximately 20-30 students


Salary: Sessional Lecturer I - $9,457.90; Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $9,930.79; Sessional Lecturer II - $10,121.77; Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $10,326.62; Sessional Lecturer III - $10,362.76; Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $10,570.02 (inclusive of vacation pay)

Minimum Qualifications:

Extensive professional experience within the forestry sector. Familiarity of the Master of Forest Conservation program at the University of Toronto and the layout of the capstone project process. Excellent organization skills and the ability to communicate with students and assess their project work accordingly.


Description of Duties
: Set-up student meetings. Work one-on-one and with the student group as a whole to prepare Master of Forest Conservation students for their final capstone projects and presentations. Schedule students and supervisors for the presentation period of December 12th-13th. Act as host during the presentations. Compile, record and submit final marks. Be available to students through regular office hours.
