Emergency First Aid Responder (Paramedic) - Shift work - 14 on 14 off - (site is 400 km North of Thunder Bay)

NorthStream Safety & Rehab is currently seeking to hire a full-time medic to cover rotational shifts 400 KM North of Thunder Bay ON. The successful candidate would be working alongside others on site with first aid response and potential drug & alcohol testing on site, among other types of medical testing in the region. Our ideal candidate is an experienced medical background, able to provide emergency first aid response and provide references from previous employers and ready to get started as soon as possible.

Job Type: Full-Time with Rotational Shifts (14 on 14 off)

Start Date: Immediately *Urgently Hiring*

Salary: $38.00-$48.00 per hour, depending on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Identify workplace risks and focus on protection measures
  • Administer healthy workplace protocols within legal regulations.
  • Educate workers on the hazards of the physical demands of the work.
  • Key player in the management of the fit for duty program. Perform different tests required according to the policy.
  • Provide primary care for the injured or ill workers on site and follow up on their status when they are off site.
  • Summarize outcome measures to prove healthy workplace programs are beneficial.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping systems in compliance with Occupational Health

professional growth and development).

  • Maintain available equipment in the first aid room
  • The medic may have to go underground occasionally depending on the needs of the

operation. Currently early phases of development.

Requirements:

● First Aid Emergency responder (preferable background in Paramedic or Nursing)

● Currently registration in good standing

● Current certification valid.

● Demonstrated clinical competence with general medicine nursing skills

● Previous experience working in an outpatient clinic setting/ambulatory care environment preferred

● Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interprofessional team, as well as independently

● Excellent physical assessment skills, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills

● Ability to work in fast paced environment

● Experience working with diverse population groups

● Valid Drivers License

● Demonstrated understanding and commitment to patient centred care

● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

● Demonstrated ability to engage and educate patients and families

● Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria

● Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or associations.
