Aston Carter's client is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis in Burnaby, BC. The Financial Analyst role calls for an experienced and organized professional with analytical skills who will be responsible for various finance areas such as planning, controlling, forecasting, reporting, and measuring accounting data, financial information, and assets of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecast.
• Creates and maintains detailed planning templates used in budgeting and forecasting.
• Develops models to measure and perform analysis of financial results against budget and forecasts.
• Prepares financial operating results for monthly reporting which includes analysis and identifying key trends, variances, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Provides analytics on the assigned region that supports strategic planning and decision making.
• Creates, modifies, and ensures the data integrity of various monthly management reports for the operations/branch managers, head office department managers and the accounting department.
• Assists in developing and implementing KPIs dashboards.
• Performs complex financial analysis including conducting market analysis and benchmarking.
• Performs testing of internal control procedures and reports to the Manager of FP&A.
• Assists the accounting function with completion of year-end and other audits.
• Supports Manager of FP&A with special projects and process improvements.
• Performs other ad hoc duties as required.
• Utilizes existing ERP systems, general ledger and reporting tools for use in role.

Must Have:

• 5 years of Relevant FP&A experience paired with industry experience
• Strong excel skills- required for modelling and formulas
• CPA Designated or in the later stages of their CPA

Nice to have:

• Power BI or Power Query
