Position: Executive Sous Chef
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Da Vinci's Steakhouse & Lounge. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fine dining and quality ingredients, as well as a proven track record of success in a high-volume kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop and execute the restaurant's menu offerings.
- Manage and supervise the kitchen staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Assist in the ordering and inventory management of food and supplies, ensuring that all ingredients are of the highest quality.
- Maintain and enforce all food safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
- Participate in content creation for the restaurant's website and social media channels, including recipe development and food photography.
- Manage and maintain kitchen equipment and facilities, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and that repairs are promptly addressed.
- Continuously develop and refine menu items, keeping up-to-date with the latest culinary trends and techniques.
- Make recipe/price cards for features and menu items.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a fine dining establishment.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a team of kitchen staff effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and recipe development.
- Experience with abstract plating techniques.
- Experience cooking with infrared broilers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the culinary team and front-of-house staff.
- Proficient in content creation for social media platforms and website management.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations and best practices.
- Able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
