What You’ll Do

The Electrician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, installing, and wiring all electrical devices and circuits of any voltage in the plant or assigned area. This position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and will work in a team environment to complete related tasks. The Electrician will also work daily to perform corrective and preventative maintenance on various equipment and machinery throughout the plant.

  • Receive wiring diagrams, specifications and instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection of work to be done
  • Analyze all types of drawings and wiring diagrams to locate and install circuit and equipment
  • Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specification codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation application of equipment
  • Installs conduit, fittings, switches, controls, fixtures, and wires and connects all types of electrical equipment
  • Opens and closes high voltage disconnects on incoming lines
  • Makes electrical and mechanical repairs to production machinery in existence and works out changes to new production equipment prior to and during installation of same

What You’ll Need

To be successful in this position, you must:

  • Possess an Ontario Certificate of Qualification for Electrician
  • Have experience in work related repair, install, and wiring all electrical devices and circuits
  • Be able to work in a physical environment and able to handle heavy materials
  • Have good communication, writing, and reading skills
