Job Description


As a key leadership role supporting the Canadian business, the Director of Finance will manage and coordinate projects and recurring activities within the following primary areas of responsibility: development and preparation of financial statements, including but not limited to, income statement, balance sheet and cash flows, financial reporting and analysis, technical accounting, maintaining the general ledger, control environment over financial reporting, budgeting & forecasting and the North American month-end accounting close processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Provide direct/indirect leadership and supervision to 6 Finance team members
  • Develop and prepare period ending financial statements, projections, analytics surrounding the results
  • Research complex technical accounting matters and provide appropriate guidance and interpretation
  • Manage the process of preparing, presenting and analyzing financial statements
  • Proving management reporting; meet deadlines for fiscal rollup
  • Work closely with Canadian Vice President, General Manager to ensure the integrity of the financial reporting
  • Participate in strategic planning process at the business unit on three to five year growth objectives
  • Establishing and maintaining bank relationships ensuring in country compliance
  • Lead change management projects designed to improve revenue and earnings growth
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary

Qualifications


Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Master’s Degree or CPA certification preferred

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of applicable experience
  • Understanding of Canadian financial reporting requirements

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working within a privately held/ family owned company
  • SAP, BPC, and experience with global consolidation within the CPG industry
