Yukon Legislative Assembly
Salary: $112,469 to $154,458 per annum, plus pension and benefits
This is a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.
 
The Office of the Yukon Legislative Assembly is seeking a forward-thinking and dynamic candidate to join and play an integral role in our senior management team. Reporting to the Clerk of the Assembly, you will oversee Financial Services, Human Resources and Administration to ensure the delivery of efficient, professional services while fostering a culture of growth, accountability and leadership. This position serves all elected Members with impartiality and confidentiality and provides specialized expertise to the Clerk, Speaker and Caucuses.
This position also provides support and advice to the Legislative Assembly House Officers. The position is also the Lobbyist Administrator.
The duties of the Director, through the provision of independent non-partisan advice and services, enables the Members of the Yukon Legislative Assembly, caucus staff, and the Assembly’s House Officers to carry out their constitutional and legislative responsibilities.
To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate experience as a senior leader, preferably in a public sector environment, providing sound advice on matters of legislation, policy and procedures pertaining to all areas of responsibility. You have successfully demonstrated your expertise in financial, budgetary and accounting practices as well as your knowledge in areas of human resources. It is vital that you are skilled at building positive working relationships and have a flair for facilitating, negotiating and leading others. Superior communication, both written and oral, problem solving, sound judgement and analytical skills will contribute to your success in this position.
Your expertise and big picture thinking must balance to the needs of stakeholders at all levels. You can motivate and lead a team to achieve results building positive and professional relationships and networks.
