Position Summary:


THP is undertaking the modernization of its business systems, specifically its human resources, payroll and staff scheduling systems, over the next two years. A project team has been established to oversee the planning and implementation of this project and it will be working with external partners and vendors throughout this process.


The Business Systems Transformation project is seeking an experienced individual to be the Change Management Lead on the project. The successful candidate is a highly motivated individual who will use their experience in leading organizational change to support the project. The Change Management Lead will implement a change management strategy for the project, including tracking progress and risks, and making recommendations on realignment if needed, and will spearhead change initiatives with a structured methodology / process. This role will be working with stakeholders across the organization and with external partners and vendors for the purpose of supporting the work of the Business Systems Transformation Project.


This role reports to the Manager, Change Management & Integration.


This role is primarily remote, however, on-site presence at any one of THP’s three hospital sites or off-site locations may be required from time to time as deemed necessary by project leadership.


Here’s what you will get to do:

  • Contribute to the development of a change management strategy for the project, leveraging a change management methodology, process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes
  • Implement the change management strategy for the project by working with various stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization
  • Monitor and report on the status and progress of the change management plan and identify opportunities and / or needs for realignment
  • Define and monitor all areas of the organization where there will be a change, the level of impact the change will bring and strategies for successful change adoption
  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with communications specialists and leaders to craft a story that articulates the vision for staff in an effort to mobilize staff, build consensus, reduce resistance and build excitement
  • Enable the design, development, delivery and management of key communications
  • Provide input, document requirements, and support the design and delivery of training programs
  • Establish effective relationships with leaders and staff within applicable operational departments (e.g. HR, Finance, Patient Care Services, Institute for Better Health, Communications, etc.), to enable the successful implementation of the change management strategy
  • Establish effective relationships with external partners and vendors involved in the project
  • Participates in any necessary process and / or systems training, workflow redesign, engagement, events and other activities pertaining to the project
  • Develops a deep understanding of the expected change and resulting impact to the organization
  • Creates and / or reviews materials (e.g. presentations, reports, business cases, etc.) for a variety of audiences and presents to staff, leaders, executives and the Board of Directors, as required
  • Complete change management assessments
  • Identify risks and analyze and prepare risk mitigation tactics
  • Integrate change management activities into the project plan
  • Develop an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for THP’s workflows
  • Participate in discussions with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end user concerns, and upcoming milestones
  • Identify issues that arise in your system's area as well as issues that impact other system teams and work to resolve them

Here’s what you need to have:

  • Successful completion of either a University Degree or College Diploma in a Human Resources, Business, or a Health-related discipline
  • CCMP, Prosci, ATD, CMI or other change management designation preferred
  • PMP designation an asset
  • Knowledge of and experience with change management frameworks such as ADKAR
  • Experience as a change management lead for at least one (1) large-scale implementation of information systems (clinical or business), with strong working or expert knowledge in communications and change management
  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
  • Experience with and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
  • Excellent computer skills, with MS Office
  • Accuracy and attention to detail when performing a wide variety of tasks
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • The ability and willingness to learn new software and systems
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Skilled in diagnosing and solving complex clinical process problems and providing detailed analysis
  • The ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner
  • The ability and willingness to recognize assignments or tasks that need to be completed, to seek out additional assignments or tasks, and to help others
  • The ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and other stakeholders
  • The ability to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles, and reach high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures
  • Ability to be on site at THP’s hospital or satellite sites with 24 hours notice, if deemed necessary, a must. Any travel expenses incurred to be on site are the sole responsibility of the employee.

We offer employees, in roles that are conducive to remote work, the flexibility and the right mix of remote and in-office work (approximately 80/20). Acknowledging that the primary works space will be remote work from home, but there will be times when onsite presence is appropriate just as there will be times when onsite presence may not be possible.


The expectation is that remote work locations, as part of the Flex First program, will be in the employee’s place of residence, and adhere to all THP policies and procedures, with special consideration towards privacy. Since employees should be available to return to the workplace with 24 hours’ notice, remote work outside of the province or country is not acceptable.
