Are you looking for a fun and rewarding summer job? Camp Green Acres is hiring positive, outgoing, and energetic staff for Summer 2023! We are looking for candidates who have an interest in working with children aged 4-13 years, and who are completing Grade 10 or higher. University-aged staff and 8-week contracts are preferred. We are hiring counsellors and instructors in a variety of areas, including swim, arts, sports, martial arts, dance/gymnastics, science, drama/musical theatre, ropes and rock climbing, horseback riding, pre-school activities and more!
FREE bus transportation is provided from many areas, including Maple, Thornhill, Markham, Richmond Hill, Toronto, Beaches, Durham and Newmarket. Please note that there is NO bus transportation from Oshawa, Mississauga, Etobicoke, or Brampton.
As a staff member, you will gain valuable leadership, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills that look great on a resume. You will also be working outside, with people your age, in a fun and friendly environment. Employers and schools place great value on the experience that camp jobs provide!

Camp Green Acres is located at 11123 Kennedy Road, Markham. Camp dates are from July 3 to August 25, 2023, Monday to Friday only, from approximately 9:00am - 4:00pm. We offer 6 and 8 week positions.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
SUPERVISE each of your campers AT ALL TIMES, accompanying them to all activities, being constantly aware of their whereabouts, needs and safety at camp. Campers should never be left alone.
Be ATTENTIVE to their INDIVIDUAL needs: sunscreen, meal times, hydration, changing for swim, happy times & unhappy times.
EXECUTE AND PARTICIPATE in activities with your campers AT ALL TIMES – either help the specialist, plan and execute the activity yourself and/or help the kids, and/or have fun doing the activity yourself – be actively involved, do not sit back and check out.
Ensure SAFETY OF CAMPERS at all times.
Be a POSITIVE ROLE MODEL and an energetic and enthusiastic leader - these kids look up to you! Be aware of what you say and do – kids are always listening!
CONNECT with each child on an individual basis. If you genuinely care about them and show interest in them, they will respond better to you and you can better anticipate their needs.
BE PATIENT - They're just kids!
WEAR A WATCH - It is important for you to know what time it is in order to make the most of the day!
HAVE FUN! Come to camp each day ready to sing, dance, cheer, get wet, get dirty and be silly! The more you put into your camp job, the more you will get out of it!
