Job Description

Thunderbolt Contracting is currently seeking an experienced mechanic or Level 2+ apprentice to assist in repairing and maintaining our modern fleet of vehicles and equipment. The successful candidate would report to our Shop Service Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs etc. on all vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair and service, braking systems, suspension systems, air systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, cab HVAC, steering components, drivelines, and more.
  • Perform Ministry of Transportation vehicle inspections as per Ministry guidelines.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork as required for repairs and inspections completed.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Valid G driver's license.
  • In-depth knowledge of heavy trucks/equipment.
  • Possess own set of mechanic's basic tools.
  • Sound knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Candidates that are in 2nd or 3rd year apprenticeship program will also be considered.
