We’re looking for our next Administrator, Deposits. Could It Be You?
The purpose of the Administrator, Deposits is to facilitate and support the progression of Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) life-cycle through proper management of documentation. This includes new and closed accounts’ document handling and providing a wide range of support services to our clients, brokers and agents.

What’s it like working as an Administrator, Deposits?
Administrator, Deposits will report to the Account Manager, Deposit Services. Administrator, deposits will be responsible for performing the day-to-day functions in the processing of the purchases, redemptions, and re-registrations of GICs along with providing a high level of customer service to our clients, brokers, and agents.

Responsibilities include:
  • Processing Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) applications received by reconciling the attached deposit slips with the bank inputting them into the GIC system (Portfolio Plus) and providing confirmations in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that GICs are processed accurately and AML requirements are met for each client or exceptions are obtained
  • Processing received cheques for new GICs or additions to existing ones. Maintaining and organizing of files including some hard and soft copies.
  • Responding to brokers and agent requests. Process fax, email and letters/instructions in a timely manner.
  • Internal and external communication, correspondence, cheque production, and bulk mailing out of payments.
  • Daily reconciliation of the GIC account to the bank identifying outstanding recording items that need to be followed up with the assigned bank or the accounting department.
  • Produce commission statements, payments and principal and interest payments as well as Portfolio Plus generated reports within a specified time frame.
  • Preparing and processing the monthly reconciliation files for CTC’s nominee GIC agents.
  • Escalating issues to Manager when necessary.
  • Ensuring time sensitive functions are performed (time management).
  • Scanning and updating digital files.
  • Providing files to auditors as necessary.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.
  • Processing orders via external systems such as CANNEX.
  • Process internal deposits and returned items on a timely basis
  • Process incoming and outgoing Swift payments, and use other functionality of the RBC Express banking system
  • Process daily clearing and EFT transactions, including returns and manual payments

  • You have Post-Secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, Mortgages, Financial planner, Pension and Benefits plans.
  • You have 1-2 years of experience in GIC, RRSP processing experience in a financial environment, bank, insurance, mutual fund is preferred.
  • Brownie points if you have completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
