Athabasca University's AVP Quality, Planning, and Assessment is currently recruiting for the position of Administrative Professional Officer.

The Position:

Reporting to the Manager, Programs and Planning, the Administrative Professional Officer (APO) is responsible for the coordination of activities across the Office of Quality, Planning, and Assessment (OQPA). This includes supporting strategic and operational initiatives in the areas of Learning Outcomes Assessment (LOA), quality assurance, accreditation, out of province authorizations, Institutional Data Analysis (IDA), Institutional Resource Planning (IRP), and Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM).

A key requirement of this position is tracking the flow of information and records maintenance of the programs and activities within the OQPA, as well as supporting the tracking of institution-wide strategic initiatives for integration with the IRP process.

The APO is expected to demonstrate initiative and work independently, often with quick turnaround times for completion of time sensitive materials. The incumbent must handle confidential materials and institutional information with discretion and facilitate effective communication within and outside the OQPA with diplomacy.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree with 3-5 years applicable experience preferably in a post-secondary institution.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), strong interpersonal, time/priority management, administrative, and organizational skills are mandatory.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data from various sources.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and discretion, with a strong commitment to confidentiality as well as inclusivity. Maintaining confidentiality and discretion is imperative.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work accurately and timely, with minimal supervision.
  • Excels working within a distributed team environment and takes initiative to collaborate and connect in a near virtual environment.
  • Demonstrated planning, prioritization, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Adept at utilizing Microsoft 365 applications as well as Adobe Acrobat Pro, with an aptitude to learn other software.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Familiarity with Tableau and NVivo is an asset.
  • Ability to edit and format documents to meet accessibility standards.
  • Committed to continued professional development.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
